The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) has a robust story to tell, from its celebrated legacy dating back to 1890 to the volunteer service that members provide in their local communities throughout the country and around the world today.

Here in the Finger Lakes region of south central New York, the Chief Taughannock Chapter, NSDAR, members work to carry on the DAR legacy year-round with meetings and lectures for members, individual and group volunteer efforts, and representation throughout a broad community on various non-profit boards, in the work place, and in each individual’s community.

We take special pride in welcoming newly awarded American citizens, participating in beautification and clean-up efforts, and overseeing thoughtful essay contests in the school districts where our members live and work.

If you join us, you will quickly realize we are more than a lineage society, we are a women’s service organization, we help women discover and tell the stories of their past, and we honor our ancestors who fought for our nation’s independence. We are Today’s DAR.
